The Spec has an
article reporting on ward 2 councilor Jason Farr proposing a motion for council to reaffirm support for LRT. Good move by Farr. Obviously ward 2 will get the most benefit from LRT so the ward councilor being supportive makes sense. Since the weirdness of Mayor Bob Bratina and city manager Chris Murray on LRT, people deserve to know one way or another what's going on with LRT. Is the city still going forward with it or not?
The article has some hilarious quotes from the Mayor:
Mayor Bob Bratina, who has also advocated in favour of all-day GO service rather than LRT, said Farr’s motion was premature.
“The senior management LRT report will come before Council in the fall,” Bratina wrote in an email. “That is the appropriate time to consider such motions.”
I predict the Mayor isn't going to look good during the upcoming council meeting.
