Given the recent news that the city is tightening up on liquor licenses, it got me thinking about bars in Hamilton and how they contribute to the economy. People are going to go to bars and the city makes it hard to open up new bars to supply demand, people will go to other cities and Hamilton ends up losing out.
I'm pretty sure that more people from Hamilton go to Toronto bars than Torontonians going to Hamilton bars. What about some where like Burlington compared to Hamilton. Does Hamilton win that bar balance of trade? I'm not sure. Hess Village might help Hamilton, but I'm not sure which city wins.
