Ontario Government Says No New Money for Physicians

The Globe and Mail has a good article about Ontario announcing that there is no new money for physicians. That's after two years of freezes:

"Under his predecessor, Deb Matthews, the government managed in 2012 to freeze total physician pay at $11-billion per year for two years after a bitter standoff with the Ontario Medical Association."

That does leave out the fact that fees did raise a lot before the freeze. That is in the past though and no doubt the province's physicians will be looking for more money. Of course with a massive 12.5 billion deficit for this fiscal year and theoretical plans to balance the budget for the 2017-2018 fiscal year will freezes be required until then?
